There are 3 things that I keep in mind when analyzing onboarding and activation flows:

  1. The customer installs an app most of the times because he/she has a problem that they want to solve.
  2. To be onboarded from a user’s perspective means feeling empowered and closer to solving their problem — not just being educated.
  3. Show users the value upfront and make them feel like they’re already part of the experience — this gives them a compelling reason to convert.

Questions one should be asking while designing the onboarding and activation experience :
